In the U.S., today is Independence Day, when we celebrate our decision to break free from tyranny. (OK, that’s a little simplified, but it sounds pretty.) Not only is defeating tyranny an idea whose time has come again, but the idea of independence is a powerful one in other areas, too. Say, for example, independence from our oil addiction, and the “car=transportation” mindset.
If you can, take a few minutes today to ride a bike and strike a blow for freedom. Freedom from big companies. Freedom from deadly pollution. Freedom from small thinking.
