Your efficiency comes more from the lower rolling resistance of the skinny high-pressure tires, your more aerodynamic seating position, and the gearing that&#039;s configured for road conditions rather than torquing through mud, up steep hills and over large singletrack obstacles.

Bicycle weight, I&#039;ve found, has only a marginal effect on speed.  Lighter bikes seem to handle a lot better, though.

Soon you&#039;ll be commuting full-time on the Nomade.  Just wait.  :P</description>
