Hey Jason,

Do you mind if Indymedia re-publishes this on Indymedia?

It's such a good idea isn't it? Really sociable.

In Sydney some riders have taken it a step further: they run a [Bike "Bus"](http://www.bikebus.org.au/)--a group that rides a set route for [visibility and safety-in-numbers](http://www.spinopsys.com/archives/1031).

That's awesome, and pretty much what I've got going on with a few people that live along the way to work. We have 3 regulars and a few occasional riders. I'm calling it the Bike Commuter Convoy, and it's getting a little bit of media attention. I'm meeting with a local sustainable community organization to discuss ways to get more participation. I think it would be awesome to get half a dozen, or even dozens of regulars.

My reasons for setting up the commuter convoy were much the same as well. Promote a fun, healthy, sustainable, unique and visible way to get to work.

Kudos! I wish more communities worked toward something like this.
