I get e-mails from Amtrak because I’m part of their Amtrak Rewards program. Today’s message contained the following fun fact:
“Americans spent about 3.7 billion hours stuck in traffic last year, burning gasoline whose price has soared 60%.” (Taken from “A Better Way to Travel?” by Peter Richmond, Parade Magazine, 4 Nov. 2007)
Wow. I’m willing to bet that most of those folks weren’t on bicycles at the time.
