From bikelovejones:
I believe with all my heart in a future without personal cars.
I believe in a future where personal, high-speed (i.e., 20+ mph) auto-mobility will be re-visioned as hyper-mobility, and seen as wasteful and selfish.
I believe in a world where we all live more localized, deliberate, intimate lives that are not so dependent on far-flung [gas-powered] travel.
I believe in a future where we make and grow more of what need right here at home, and share our skills and resources with our neighbors.
I believe in a future where our lifestyle decisions are based on the impact our choices and actions will have on the world around us.
I believe in a future where no one will feel isolated because they are old or infirm, where they will be valued because of their age and experience.
I believe in a world where no one will be very rich in money because instead we will have made the conscious choice to be rich in generosity and spirit, and everyone will have just what they need to live a modest, decent, good life.
Most of all, I believe that bicycles are one of the things that can point the way towards that future.
