Absolutely right, Ethan. I hope the APD makes a real attempt to recover the bike. It drives me nuts the way bikes are often considered disposable, at least by those who don't have one or treat them as second-class vehicles. The Albany story reminds me of a couple of men in my neighborhood who of necessity get around by trike. The street layout, road work, etc., etc., make their lives unnecessarily difficult. I also have seen an old-fashioned (i.e. heavy) trike locked up at the corner of Monroe and Meigs, one that's apparently used through the winter, since it shows signs of being moved into and out of the snowdrifts that routinely are allowed to make the bus stop almost inaccessible. As a community we pay too little attention to the needs of the sort of rider who depends on a trike like this.
