Joe,

I am on the Boards of the Rochester Bicycling Club and the New York Bicycling Coalition (NYBC).

NYBC is lobbying for the three foot rule in NYS.

Once the law is passed then NYBC will ask the appropriate state organizations (DMV, NYS DOT) to disseminate the information. NYBC will also include it in its presentations of "Share the Road' campaign funded by a state grant.

In the mean time more cyclists need to communicate their concerns to their local state representatives.

Your jersey is a nice idea and maybe it will encourage a cyclist to be proactive. Lets hoep so.

Richard and Ethan. One of the things I wanted to happen is for people to start talking and thinking about the problem and how we are going to make cycling safer. So thank you for your comments. And look, it's fine if you don't buy a jersey...but do something to help. Cyclists are being injured and killed around the the world. I'm doing what I can to try and change the way motorists think about and treat cyclists...and save some lives. What are you going to do?

Thank you,
Joe

The idea is what I call a 'bandaid' solution;
a little bandaid on a big cut.

If you are riding the drops the slogan will be nearly impossible to read. The yellow is the best part of the jersey.

A petition to get the three foot law passed and then enforced is a better idea than spending $60.00 on a jersey. Spend the money on a petition drive.

I believe NYBC is working on that now.
