I've always found the bike to faster door to door than a bus ever could be. But the rack on the bus makes it possible to get where you're going without being sweaty and then home on your own time.

he says assuming the bike is 8mph. I have to be half asleep or going up a very big hill to go that slow.

Plus, our buses never arrive quite on time. :) The up-side is that they'll generally wait for you if you run after them, or stop for you if you flag them down at a non-stop.
