I started RocBike.com to chronicle my adventures as a cyclist and bike commuter in Rochester, NY, a mid-sized city on the southern shore of Lake Ontario. My idea was to write about the rides, the idiots, the joys, the brushes with death, and the daily challenge that is being a bicycle rider.

After just a few days, though, I started to see more potential for the site. I met other cyclists and enlisted contributors. Soon, those same folks were taking RocBike.com far beyond my original vision, making it into a gathering place for Rochester cyclists.

Then I was transferred to Albany, NY, and the next evolution began. Now RocBike.com is a home for utility and recreational cyclists across New York State. If you commute by bike, if you ride with your family on the weekends, if you use your bike for errands or to take the kids to school, you’ve got a home here at RocBike.com. And if you don’t do any of those things, but you’d like to, we can help you get started.

So look around. Comment. Send us stories and photos. Subscribe! And become a contributor!

Thanks for making RocBike.com part of your day!
