It’s directions for my morning commute take me down Lark. Which is interesting since Lark has all those annoying cobblestone intersections. And buses. So I’m not 100% sold on it.

Seriously. I was supposed to check the tired pressure yesterday, but forgot. Will do it tonight. After this rain, the bike is also going to need a little wipe down.
Invest in your gear
Loving the waterproof stuff I got for Christmas. Have new panniers I can’t wait to try out. Lights, warm clothes, they are worth every penny.

As the aforementioned (and excellent) Microcar Museum notes, “It was the most sophisticated mode of transport available to a fuel-starved population, and owners were considered fortunate indeed.”

I believe in a future where no one will feel isolated because they are old or infirm, where they will be valued because of their age and experience.
I believe in a world where no one will be very rich in money because instead we will have made the conscious choice to be rich in generosity and spirit, and everyone will have just what they need to live a modest, decent, good life.
Most of all, I believe that bicycles are one of the things that can point the way towards that future.

A driver who sees you zip past as you ride your bike to work, and then sees you riding your bike to dinner later with a date, and then sees you going for a road ride that weekend doesn’t realize he’s seen only one rider—as far as he knows he’s seen a bunch of riders, and he sees them using their bikes successfully. Effectively, you’re a Critical Mass of one.”
